“She walked up to me and she asked me to dance… I asked her her name and in a dark brown voice she said Lola… L-o-l-a Lola…”

That song was stuck in my head the whooooole time as I drove up to Escondido to see Lola for her photo session!  But I didn’t meet Lola at a dance club; I met her mom at the Escondido Woofstock a few weeks ago, and Lola the French bulldog waddled into my studio for her Pre-Session Consultation shortly thereafter. She’s a cutie and a sweetheart, and I’m so glad she’s found a wonderful life with her parents! She had a rocky start – I’ll spare you the details because it just might have you doubting your faith in humanity – but she’s truly been rescued and given a second chance at life. Now she’s five years old – but I think she still looks like a puppy! We had an absolutely fabulous session – check it out!

We started at her house in Escondido – specifically, on top of her mom’s beautiful oriental rug!

Then we had a bit of downtime in the bedroom… *those eyes*

We had to go outside to the backyard for a bit, so Lola could hunt for turtles & rabbits… she keeps a tough patrol out there!

And then – are you ready for this? – she donned her family’s traditional Scottish tartan dress in nearby Felicita Park! Lola’s family is Scottish, and different colors & patterns of plaid are part of historical Scottish families’ heritage. Each family has their own design, and the pattern you see on Lola’s coat here is part of her family’s ancestry! It was custom-made for Lola, and I have to say, it fits her perfectly! How cute is she?!

Lola, thank you for being possibly the cutest French bulldog I’ve ever met. Beth, thank you for literally running all over Escondido with me! I can’t wait to see you both again soon! But in the meantime, I have plenty of work to do… I have a feeling your gallery is going to be extra-big! :)
