Mac & Samantha ~ {Pensacola, Florida Pet Photographer Allison Shamrell}

Saturday, November 13th, 2010

I like to think of these two dogs as an all-American pair; and how fitting, since they’re owned by a Marine and his wife! This is Mac the lab puppy and Samantha the beagle, and they are just classic in every sense! Mac is super active and really friendly, and knows a few tricks but mostly did them just for the promise of treats! Samantha is a little sweetheart once you sit down with her, but let her loose and her nose is the boss. We had a great time in their backyard, and except for a quick interruption by the neighbors’ dog, these two were pretty adept at posing for me! Except when there was a stick to chase, of course! Here are just a few of the photos:

And I also got to spend a while with their humans! :) Here’s a small peek at the spectacular light we got to shoot in…

Thanks, Katelynn & Tod! Enjoy your photos!

Come to Hank Aaron Stadium for all the action! We have doggie dash races, Who’s Your Daddy contests, bobbing for weiners, and a booth featuring yours truly! Mobile, AL has gone to the dogs!

P.s. Sorry for the horrible camera-phone shots! It looks better in real life, come see for yourself…

Edit:

Here are a few of my favorite shots from the day! It was a relatively small event, but the dogs that were there had an absolute blast. I got to meet a lot of blue-ribbon prize winners, too!

This little guy made quite a show over by the flowers…

Um, can you says HAPPY PUG? Ridiculous personality in this one!

Some dogs were more cuddly than others. :)  Thanks for a great day, people (and dogs) of Mobile!

The Gorgeous Riley & Zoe ~ {Pensacola, Florida Pet Photographer Allison Shamrell}

Tuesday, October 26th, 2010

Let me just start out by saying: I am very excited about this post.

Riley and Zoe are 7 and 5 years old, respectively, and it is patently obvious that they have a very deep, loving connection with their parents. They are extremely affectionate and attentive, and unlike most dogs who pay equal attention to me (the new, different-smelling person) and their parents during our session, they never stopped loving on their mom and dad! It was really touching to see. And get this- Riley won’t accept treats from anyone else! They are a wonderful family of four, and it was an absolute thrill to work with such photogenic dogs. As you will see, we split our time between the studio and the dog beach, and by the end of the day, the poor pups were pooped! And you’re about to see why- here are the most photos I’ve ever put in a post!

Look at the patterns in that wet fur! Crazy!

And finally, my personal favorite from the day…

A few good dogs- and cats! ~ {Milton, Florida Pet Photographer Allison Shamrell}

Saturday, October 23rd, 2010

Here are a few of the adoptable dogs at Santa Rosa County Animal Services in Milton! They all deserve a great new home, so stop by and meet a few of these pups and kitties! I can’t encourage you enough to visit shelters in your search for a new family member; all of these dogs have nothing wrong with them, just something wrong with their previous owners. In this economy, nothing is for certain, and these boys and girls have had a rough start. But that shouldn’t stop you from giving them a very happy ending.

Thanks for all your help, Tammy! I had a great time photographing these wonderful pets- they’ll all be such good family members one day!

Polkaspot ~ {Pensacola Beach, Florida Pet Photographer Allison Shamrell}

Friday, October 22nd, 2010

I met with Ashley this week for an awesome shoot on- well, an undisclosed location :)  We had a lot of fun playing with Polkaspot, who’s named for the big brown spot on her back. These photos are actually a gift for Polka’s owner, who happens to be in San Diego with the US military. What a great gift for someone who really deserves it!

Polka was a fun, happy dog to work with- she’s not so great at “stay”, but I’ve never seen a dog that’s quicker at “come here”!
