Sneak Peek: Lucy & Beau ~ {Panama City, FL Pet Photography by Allison Shamrell}

Saturday, March 5th, 2011

I had the privilege of spending Thursday afternoon with these fun little poodles! Lucy is the red one and Beau (short for Beauregard) is the white one, and let me tell you what, these dogs are fun! Their owner and I could hardly stop laughing the entire session, because these pups are so people-friendly and eager to please. They’re only in Florida for a short time, so I’m glad I had the chance to meet these little guys before they head back to freezing cold Indiana. Enjoy the sneak peek!

Sneak Peek: Daizie & Wink ~ {Pensacola, FL Pet Photography by Allison Shamrell}

Thursday, March 3rd, 2011

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Yes, I know that was last month. But today’s sneak peek features the winners of my Valentine’s Day contest!

We went to historic downtown Pensacola, which provides some fantastic backgrounds, and the owners of Daizie & Wink were more than happy to give them a try! Our shoot was at a pretty relaxed pace, since Wink (aka Bullwinkle, the little black dude with attitude) can only trot along so fast- he’s 14 years old! And Daizie is a complete mama’s girl, so getting her away (even just a few feet) from her mom was quite the challenge. Can you guess what breed she is? I thought she was Welsh Corgi and I was completely wrong.

The session mostly features Daizie, so I figured I’d give the limelight to Wink for the sneak peek. Enjoy the photos!

Oh, we just went for a swim in the fountain, no big deal…

Thanks, Crystal & Susie! See you soon for your ordering session!

Sneak Peek: Moose ~ {Pensacola, FL Pet Photographer Allison Shamrell}

Monday, February 28th, 2011

I spent a wonderful afternoon on Saturday with a 34-pound ball of energy: Moose, the border collie-labrador mix! He’s a year and a half, and his parents’ only “child”. You might have seen him around town before: he won a ribbon at the 2010 Splash Dogs competition, and is training (currently a “green dog”) with the Flyball team! Plus, he’s adorable. Who couldn’t love this little guy?

So, without further ado, here’s your sneak peek of Moose! “Readyyyyyy…”

I can’t wait to share the rest of the photos with you! Thanks for a great session, Moose!

Happy Valentine’s Day! ~ {Pace, Florida Pet Photography by Allison Shamrell}

Monday, February 14th, 2011

Listen, nobody ever said Valentine’s Day is for humans only. These dogs are here to prove it!

Big thanks go to We Tuck ‘Em Inn for an amazing, busy day! We practically had a line out the door!

Warning: some pictures are extremely cheesy and/or cute. No need to adjust your monitor.

Some of the dogs that stopped by decided to redecorate my set…

But they were still sweeties!

Getting tired? So is she!

New Products: Part Four ~ {Pensacola, Florida Pet Photography by Allison Shamrell}

Tuesday, February 1st, 2011

I’m definitely excited about this next product, because it’s the result of finding just the right business to work with and provide awesome innovation to my clients. So without further ado: the accordion book!

As you can see, it looks like a book from the outside when it’s closed, but opens up in an explosion of accordion-photo-goodness! It’s a really fun alternative to the traditional photo book. It comes with a nice frosted slip cover to keep it protected when you’re taking it everywhere to show friends:

It opens up and the cover is glossy while the pages have a beautiful pearly finish, bounded by a linen strap in the middle:

When completely unfolded, it’s a force to be reckoned with:

I can put one image over several panels, or split them all up to show more of your favorite photos from each session:

The pages are thicker than a normal book, so it’ll be sturdy each time you open it up.

You can have a title on the spine of your book, too! The covers are actually magnetized, so even if you don’t use the slip cover, the book will stay closed unless you open it on purpose, which is very nice.

Each book measures 4×8 inches, so it’s half the size of a normal book, but twice the personality! It really lets you show off your pictures in a fun and unique way, and it’s available with any session from Allison Shamrell Photography!

I offer plenty of other fun products too, such as mouse pads, mugs, and greeting cards. They’re just not unique enough to warrant their own blog post! So rest assured, I offer such things standard, and if you really have your heart set on making a keychain, dry erase board, or even a name tag for your dog out of a photo from your session, I have the ability to make that happen as well. But my last blog post in the “New Products” series is reserved for my most controversial product of all. Yes, controversial! For some, it’s essential, but for others, it’s an outrage. So stay tuned to see what it is…
