Tonight, I went back to my roots. Football has been a HUGE part of my photography education, and I finally got to stand on the turf again tonight, for the first time since last year’s Notre Dame season! And while Pensacola’s Catholic High School didn’t quite have the gameday atmosphere I’m used to, it was purely wonderful to watch the helmets crash and the ball fly through the air. Have you ever missed something, but not realized how much until you were back in its presence? Yeah, that was me tonight. Big time.
I’m working with Herman Allday to shoot sports, which includes not only high school but all ages of youth activities. I’m really privileged to have this opportunity; he’s been doing photography in Pensacola for 47 years! I plan on learning all I can from his wealth of experience. Sorry I can’t post any photos of the game here; he handles all the post-processing (no complaints here!!) but hopefully I can get my hands on one or two just for you :) in case you’re curious, here is the link to his website.
